Prank Goes Wrong prologue: Laura and Jerry’s rivalry
The Prank Goes Wrong prologue introduces Laura’s frustration with her stepbrother Jerry and the shared home that keeps their arguments close. His jokes are deliberately provocative, but Laura’s friends react to him very differently.
This selected sequence follows the official setup without reproducing all 43 prologue scenes. It shows the rivalry, the friends’ interest and Laura’s changing reaction while leaving the prank that drives the later story unrevealed.
Laura introduces the central rivalry
Laura is already tired of Jerry’s crude practical jokes. Her expression establishes a relationship defined by irritation, familiarity and the certainty that neither sibling intends to back down.

One house keeps both rivals close
The shared family home gives Laura and Jerry very little distance from each other. Every hallway and room can become the setting for another trick, which makes their argument difficult to escape.

Jerry refuses to stop joking
Jerry treats Laura’s anger as part of the entertainment. The prologue presents him as confident and provocative, while Laura sees the same behavior as proof that his jokes have crossed the line.

Laura’s friends notice Jerry
A conversation with Laura’s friends adds an uncomfortable new element: they do not see Jerry only as her annoying younger stepbrother. Their interest forces Laura to reconsider how much he has changed.

Jealousy complicates Laura’s anger
Laura’s close-up reaction closes the setup on a more ambiguous feeling. She still resents Jerry’s behavior, but the attention he receives from her friends makes the rivalry harder to dismiss as simple annoyance.
