The Outlaw Girl prologue introduces Matt, Riley and the redhead they are supposed to watch. It opens on a cuffed adult suspect, then rewinds to the rookie’s first day on the case.

The redhead already knows how this ends
The Outlaw Girl prologue opens on a cuffed adult woman who treats the arrest like a game. She asks to be restrained, then the story rewinds to how a 22-year-old rookie ended up in the room with her.
Matt is 22 and already in over his head
The comic explicitly identifies Matt as 22. He is a newly assigned officer, not a veteran, and the narration frames him as the last person who should be handling this case.
Riley is the partner who keeps him standing
Riley is introduced as Matt’s adult partner. She is sharper, more experienced and already watching him closely as the assignment begins.
The target is not the woman they expected
The briefing sends them after a mafia boss. When the redhead appears, Matt’s reaction makes the surveillance job feel personal before any evidence has been collected.
