Just For Research: Episode 1 — Welcome In!
Just For Research Episode 1 introduces Lydia, her writing ambitions and the two encounters that set the series up. The chapter spends its first half inside her head, then moves into public, where the bookshop crush suddenly has a name and a doorstep.
This spoiler-light Just For Research Chapter 1 recap follows six selected non-explicit moments from the official ToonHub release. It stops before the later episodes and does not reproduce the chapter’s sexualized frames.
Lydia explains why this genre matters to her
The episode opens with Lydia’s ambition in her own words. She argues that this genre speaks honestly about desire and she wants to be known for writing it, which turns her own lack of experience into the central problem of the story.

The man she keeps noticing at the bookshop
Her running commentary gives her away long before anything happens. Lydia catalogues Jeremy’s eyes, his lips and his hands while he reads behind the counter, and the chapter turns that private attention into the engine of every later scene.

The first real conversation is an accident
Lydia loses her footing in the manga aisle and ends up on the floor in front of Jeremy. The moment is played for comedy, but it is also the first time the two characters actually speak to each other.

The evening version of the story
The chapter keeps cutting between Lydia’s everyday scenes and the polished, romantic version of herself she is trying to put on the page. This selected illustration shows her dressed for an evening out, no further than the writing goes.

Jeremy reappears outside, helmet in hand
A night-time beat moves Jeremy out of the bookshop and into Lydia’s ordinary surroundings. The helmet and the doorway set up exactly what the official synopsis promises: the bookshop crush is about to become the neighbour.

The chapter closes on a denial
At a gathering later in the episode, Jeremy leans in close and Lydia insists out loud that she is fine. The selected frame ends this guide here, with the tension deliberately unresolved.
